PROJECT BLOOM

As part of its ongoing commitment to community welfare and in observance of the Day Against Child Labour, the Women Development Cell, GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Ramapuram organized a special outreach program titled “Project Bloom – Helping Children Blossom with Education” on 12th June 2025 at 10:30 PM at Aided LP School, Pathiramanna.
The program was started with the warm welcome by Jayasree K G, Coordinator, Women Development Cell. The program was inaugurated by Dr. B.G. Unni, Academic and Research Director of GEMS Arts and Science College, who emphasized the transformative power of education in eliminating child labour and building a just society. In his address, Dr. B G Unni highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in nurturing young minds and ensuring that every child receives access to quality education and necessary resources.
Following the inauguration, the main objective of the program was fulfilled the distribution of learning materials including notebooks, stationery items such as pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and rulers to the Fourth Standard students of Aided LP School. These materials were provided to encourage children to actively pursue their education and reduce the burden on underprivileged families.
Over 75 children and Student coordinators from the Women Development Cell took part in the program. The Head Master P N Byju extended heartfelt thanks for the college’s thoughtful initiative.
"Project Bloom" successfully conveyed the message that education is the most powerful tool to combat child labour. The event not only provided material support but also instilled hope and encouragement among young learners. The Women Development Cell of GEMS Arts and Science College reaffirmed its commitment to social change and educational empowerment through this meaningful program.
