The Department of Travel and Tourism Management, in association with the Tourism Club, organized VENTURA 2K26 – Association Inauguration and National Tourism Day Celebration on 13 February 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Library and Research Centre of GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous). The programme was conducted with the objective of inaugurating the department association and celebrating National Tourism Day. The programme commenced with a welcome speech delivered by Ms. Anju K P, Assistant Professor, Department of Travel and Tourism Management. She welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students of BTTM, and highlighted the importance of organizing such academic and industry-oriented programmes. The Presidential Address was delivered by Ms. Arathy P Rajan, Head of the Department of Travel and Tourism Management, who emphasized the importance of professional competence, skill development, and dedication in building a successful career in tourism and aviation sectors. The function was further enriched by felicitations delivered by the Vice Principal, Mr. Sandeepan (Head of the Department of BBA), Mr. Rihas (Faculty, PG Department of English), and Mr. Jeevesh (Faculty, Language Department). They appreciated the efforts of the department in organizing the programme and encouraged students to make use of such opportunities for academic and professional growth. The official inauguration was carried out by the esteemed chief guests, Ms. Greeshma Krishna, Senior Cabin Crew, Air India Express, and Mr. Manoj Thampan, Regional Vice President, Alhind Academy. In their inaugural addresses, they shared valuable insights from their professional experiences and motivated students to develop communication skills, confidence, and industry readiness to excel in the competitive tourism and aviation industries. Following the inaugural session, a prize distribution ceremony was conducted to honor the University Examination Rank Holders. Students who secured first, second, and third positions from each batch (first year, second year, and third year BTTM) were awarded and appreciated for their academic excellence. The programme continued with informative sessions by both chief guests. Ms. Greeshma Krishna delivered an engaging session on career opportunities in aviation, responsibilities of cabin crew, safety standards, and the importance of customer service and professional grooming. Mr. Manoj Thampan conducted an insightful session on emerging trends in the travel and tourism industry, industry expectations, skill enhancement, and career pathways. The sessions were interactive and highly beneficial for the students. The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks. In the afternoon, a film screening session was organized at the Prem Nazir Audio Visual Theatre.
