The Department of Travel and Tourism Management, GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous), organized a research-oriented academic programme titled “Inquest: A Journey into the Logic of Research” on 21 December 2025. The programme was designed to provide students with a clear understanding of the fundamentals of research, its logical framework, and its relevance in academic and professional fields. The session was held at MPN Hall and commenced at 10:00 a.m. The resource person, Mr. Muhammed Abdul Shameem TV, delivered an insightful and engaging talk on the concept of research, emphasizing the importance of logical thinking, problem identification, research design, and methodology. He explained various stages of research in a simple and practical manner, making it easy for students to grasp complex ideas. The speaker also highlighted the relevance of research in tourism studies, particularly in understanding industry trends, consumer behaviour, and sustainable development. Real-life examples and experiences were shared to motivate students to develop research aptitude and critical thinking skills. The programme witnessed active participation from students of the Department of Travel and Tourism Management. An interactive session followed the lecture, during which students raised questions related to project work, data collection methods, and career opportunities in research. The resource person addressed all queries patiently and provided valuable guidance. The programme successfully enhanced students’ understanding of the logic and importance of research. It encouraged students to approach academic projects systematically and analytically. The session also motivated students to pursue research-oriented thinking in their future academic and professional endeavours.
