The Department of Sociology organized a programme titled “Her Story, Our Voice” on 24th March 2026 (Tuesday) from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Room No. 703. The programme was conducted as a talk session based on the film “Feminichi Fathima”, aiming to create awareness and discussion on gender perspectives and feminist narratives.
The session commenced with a warm welcome speech delivered by Ms. Nimmi Ayyappan Parambil, faculty member of the Department of Sociology. In her address, she highlighted the relevance of discussing gender issues through films and emphasized the importance of critical thinking among students.
The resource person for the session was Ms. Asfina Fabi K.T, an MSW student. She delivered an insightful talk on the film “Feminichi Fathima”, explaining its themes, characters, and the social messages conveyed through the storyline. The speaker elaborated on issues related to gender inequality, societal norms, and the lived experiences of women portrayed in the film. The session encouraged students to reflect on contemporary gender issues and engage in meaningful discussions.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sifla K, a second-year Sociology student, who expressed gratitude to the speaker, faculty members, and participants for making the event successful.
