Workshop on Reference Citation Tools for MSW students

The PG Department of Social Work of GEMS Arts and Science College organized a workshop on Reference Citation Tools for MSW students on March 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM. The session was conducted at the Geoinformatics Lab and was facilitated by Ms. Anitha Parveen, Head of the Department of Social Work.
The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance students' knowledge and skills in using reference citation tools, which are essential for academic writing and research. The session covered various citation tools, including Zotero and provided hands-on training on how to use these tools for reference management, citation generation, and bibliography formatting.
Ms. Anitha Parveen elaborated on the importance of proper referencing in academic and research work, highlighting different citation styles such as APA, MLA, and Chicago. The practical demonstration helped students understand how to import references, organize them systematically, and integrate citations into their research papers seamlessly.
The workshop was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and practical exercises. They clarified their doubts regarding citation errors, plagiarism, and best practices for referencing. The session concluded with a Q&A segment, where students received personalized guidance on using citation tools effectively.
