The 2022-2023 international social work training visit organized by the Department of Sociology and MSW College took our team to Nepal, Sikkim, and West Bengal. During our agency visit and interactions with inmates at Missionaries of Charity facilities, we gained invaluable insights into the compassionate work of this organization. The experience deepened our understanding of social work in diverse cultural contexts and reinforced the importance of empathy in our field. MSW 2021-2023 batch Students and faculties of PG Dept. of Social Works and Sociology started their International Agency Visit on 13/11/2022 From Palakkad Junction. The social work trainees team got an opportunity to visit and explore the new town Kolkata. New Town is a planned satellite city of Kolkata, India. It comes under North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is close to Kolkata and covered by New Town Kolkata Development Authority. Trainees visited the missionaries of charity at Kolkata at 15 November 2022. It is founded by mother Teresa. They provide some activities and care for blind, the elderly, the dying and people afflicted with leprosy in the poorest section of the city. And trainees also visited "Nirmalasisubhavan" and "Nirmal Hriday for sick and dying destitutes" it's also working under missionaries of charity. Odyssey was the 17 days of international institutional training visit conducted by the PG department of social work and sociology of Gems arts and science college and well-coordinated by Ggwo Holidays. It was a great milestone for the department. Through this visit trainee learned about the importance of Social work in different settings and it also helped to treasure many memories This visit was very helpful to understand and learn about different cultures, customs, food styles, languages etc. A total of 24 trainees participated in the agency visit.
