The PG Department of Social Work, GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous) Ramapuram, has celebrated World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2026 in association with the Social Justice Department. As a part of the observance program the students of the PG Department of Social Work has organized a Mime Performance on 15 June 2026 at Government College, Malappuram. The programme aimed to create awareness about elder abuse, neglect, and the importance of ensuring dignity, care, and protection for senior citizens. The mime performance, presented by MSW students, effectively highlighted issues such as loneliness, emotional neglect, lack of care, and social responsibility towards the elderly through impactful silent enactments. The programme successfully attracted the audience’s attention and conveyed a strong social message on elder rights and wellbeing. Honourable District Collector Dr. Vinay Goyal IAS specially appreciated the students for their meaningful performance. Faculty members, students, and participants from various institutions attended the event, which concluded successfully with positive feedback from the audience and organizers.
