GEMS 2025 was successfully organized by GEMS Arts and Science College in collaboration with the Society of Biological Chemists (India) from 17 December 2025 to 19 January 2026. Conducted in hybrid mode at the Prem Nazir Audio Visual Theatre, the series enabled both offline and online participation, bringing together twelve distinguished speakers from India, Malaysia, USA, Nigeria, and Egypt.
The lectures covered advanced topics in microbiology, biotechnology, immunology, pharmacology, and biomedical sciences. The series began with Prof. Jagadeesh Bayry’s session on regulatory T cells and their therapeutic applications. Other notable talks included Prof. Manash Pratim Sarma on smoked food and cancer, Dr. Audrey Siew Foong Kow on allergy pathways, and Prof. Iyabo Olunike Omomowo on microbial roles in climate change and food security. Sessions by Dr. Tapan Dey and Dr. Seetharaman Jayaraman highlighted pulmonary hypertension and drug discovery.
Interdisciplinary themes such as oral cancer, wound healing, marine pharmacognosy, and PCOS were also explored. Interactive discussions followed each session, promoting critical thinking and engagement. Overall, the series enhanced scientific awareness, encouraged research interest, and strengthened global academic collaboration.
