online Competitive Exam Guidance Program titled “Target 2K26”

The PG Department of Microbiology, GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Ramapuram, organized an online Competitive Exam Guidance Program titled “Target 2K26” on 28 February 2026 at 11:00 AM. The program was conducted in association with the IQAC and the PG Department of Microbiology, EMEA College of Arts and Science, Kondotty, as part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. The program was organized to guide postgraduate students in preparing for competitive examinations, with special focus on the CSIR-NET examination.
The session was handled by Dr. Rasiya K. T., Assistant Professor, PG Department of Microbiology, EMEA College of Arts and Science, Kondotty. During the session, the resource person provided detailed guidance on the CSIR-NET Life Sciences examination, focusing on the syllabus, exam structure, and preparation strategies required for success. Dr. Rasiya explained the importance of thoroughly studying the postgraduate syllabus, emphasizing that a strong conceptual understanding of core subjects is essential for clearing the CSIR examination. She discussed the detailed syllabus of CSIR-NET Life Sciences and highlighted how topics studied during postgraduate courses form the foundation for the exam.
The resource person also explained the exam pattern, mark distribution, and structure of the question paper, including the different sections and types of questions asked in the examination. She provided sample questions and examples to help students understand the analytical and conceptual approach required to solve CSIR-NET questions. Through these examples, students gained a clear idea about the question pattern and level of difficulty.
Overall, the program was highly informative and beneficial for the postgraduate students. It motivated them to start early preparation for the CSIR-NET examination and provided them with a clear understanding of the exam pattern and study approach required to achieve success.
