The Department of Management Studies, GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous), organized an extension programme titled “DIGITAL DISHA – Empowering Community Through Digital Literacy” on 26th August 2025, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the M.P. Narayana Menon Hall. The programme aimed to promote digital awareness and strengthen the technological skills of community members from Ramapuram and Mankada Panchayats.
The session was coordinated by Ms. Thasni M., Assistant Professor, and handled by BBA students—Mr. Amal Abdul Jaleel, Mr. Muhammed Shaaz, Ms. Fathima Hiba K.P, and Ms. Niya C—who actively engaged participants through practical demonstrations and discussions. A felicitation ceremony was also held, where Dr. Abdussamad, Vice Principal, and Mr. Abdul Latheef Aslem, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the organizers and participants.
The major objectives included enhancing basic digital skills, promoting safe internet usage, expanding access to digital opportunities, and fostering lifelong learning. A total of 86 participants attended and expressed high levels of satisfaction, finding the session informative, interactive, and beneficial.
Overall, the programme effectively empowered participants with essential digital knowledge and practices. It stood as a successful community outreach initiative, reflecting the Department’s dedication to social responsibility, digital inclusion, and community development through education.
