The Department of Management Studies, in association with the Gender Club, organized a session titled “BEYOND GENDER – Gender Equality in the Workplace” on 09 March 2026 at 11.00 AM at M.P Narayana Menon Hall.
The session aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of gender equality and the need to promote inclusive practices in workplaces. The resource person for the programme was Nimmi Ayyappan Parambil, Assistant Professor, and Department of Sociology. She delivered an informative talk highlighting the concepts of gender equality, gender bias, and discrimination that often occur in professional environments.
During the session, the speaker explained how workplaces should ensure equal opportunities for all genders and emphasized the importance of respect, fairness, and ethical behavior in professional life. She also discussed the role of young professionals in building inclusive and gender-sensitive organizations in the future.
A total of 48 students participated in the programme, including students from BBA and BTTM programmes. The session was interactive, and students actively engaged in discussions and clarified their doubts regarding gender equality in professional settings.
