The PG Department of English Language and Literature of GEMS Arts and Science College conducted a IPR titled " A SEMINAR ON:-THE ROLE OF IPR IN PROMOTING INNOVATION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH " at MP Narayana Menon Hall on 28 march 2025 at 10.30 AM. The class was handled by Mrs. Anitha Parveen J, Head of PG Department of Social work. The Intellectual Property Right (IPR) workshop was organized with the aim of
spreading awareness about the significance of intellectual property rights in today's rapidly evolving knowledge economy. The workshop provided insights into various aspects of IPR, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, highlighting their importance in protecting innovation and fostering creativity. This programme educates participants about the basics of Intellectual Property Rights. It discusses the processes involved in applying for and
protecting IPR. The programmer also enhance awareness about the different types of intellectual property, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and geographical indications. The resource person provides practical knowledge on how to safeguard intellectual property in the global context. Total of 57 students from both BA and MA English participated in the programme.
