PROJECT/DISSERTATION WORKSHOP

The PG Department of English Language and Literature of GEMS Arts and Science College conducted a Workshop titled " PROJECT/DISSERTATION WORKSHOP FOR MA AND BA ENGLISH STUDENTS" at Research and Innovation Centre on 13th January 2025 at 10.00 AM.

The class was handled by Mr.Muhammed Ali P, Assistant Professor, Unity Women's college Manjeri.. The Project and Dissertation Workshop was designed to provide essential guidance

and support for students engaged in academic research and long-term projects. The primary

focus of the workshop was to help students understand the key components of managing,

structuring, and completing their projects and dissertations successfully. This programme equip students with the necessary skills to plan and organize their dissertation or project and provide an understanding of research methodologies and how to apply them effectively. It also offers advice on writing, structuring, and presenting research findings. It guides students through the process of selecting a topic, managing time, and avoiding common pitfalls and to offer insights on referencing, academic integrity, and avoiding plagiarism. Total of 37 students from both BA and MA English participated in the program.

Student Induction Programme 2022
PG Department of English language and literature organised a session on " To the world of Literature", a programme with English students in Association with student Induction Programme (Dllheeksharamb) . Purpose of Student Induction Programme is to help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the institution, help them build bonds with other students and faculty members, and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self exploration. Session was coordinated by Sreekala A, Assistant Professor , Department of English. Students felt comfortable with the new environment through the session. The session was aimed to inculcate the taste of literature in every students and to make them vanguard in the classroom . The session was conducted on 16th September 2022 at 9:30 to 12:30 pm. More than Forty students actively participated in the programme and also they conveyed their positive feedback to the organizer followed by the session.
