PG DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE TOPIC: UNLOCK YOUR VOICE PROGRAM

The PG Department of English Language and Literature conducted a public speaking programme titled "Unlock Your Voice" on 21 January 2026 with the objective of enhancing the communication and public speaking skills of undergraduate students. The programme was organized for 2ND and 4** semester of BA English students.
The session was held at M. P. Narayana Menon Hall from 9.30 a.m. to 11.20 a.m. The resource person for the programme was Rihas K. T., Assistant Professor, PG Department of English Language and Literature, who has extensive experience in language teaching and communication training. The programme began with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of effective public speaking in academic, professional, and social contexts. The resource person engaged the students through an interactive session that focused on overcoming stage fear, improving voice modulation, developing confidence, body language, articulation, and structuring speeches effectively. Practical tips and real-life examples were shared to help students understand the nuances of impactful communication.
Students actively participated in the session through short speaking activities and interactive discussions. The resource person encouraged students to express their ideas freely and provided constructive feedback, which helped them identify their strengths and areas for improvement.
The session was lively, motivating, and informative, enabling students to gain confidence in expressing themselves in public. "Unlock Your Voice" was a successful and enriching programme that significantly contributed to the personal and academic development of the participants by fostering confidence and effective communication skills. Total 61 students are participated in this programme.
