BREAKING BARRIERS: EMPOWERING MINDS FOR GENDER EQUITY. PG DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE

The session "Breaking Barriers: Empowering the Mind for Gender Equity", led by the esteemed
legal expert Adv. Shaheeda Panchily, on 10/03/2025 Monday at MP Naryanamenon Hall, was
an enlightening and thought-provoking event. The program aimed to explore the legal and
social dimensions of gender equity, providing students with a deeper understanding of their
rights and responsibilities in fostering an inclusive society. Adv. Shaheeda Panchily delivered
a compelling lecture, emphasizing the significance of equity in law and its role in dismantling
systemic barriers. She highlighted key legal provisions that safeguard gender rights and
encouraged students to be proactive in advocating for justice and equality. 75 students were
participated in the session. It was both informative and engaging, filled with real-life examples
and thought-provoking discussions. The program successfully fostered awareness and inspired
critical thinking among students. It was a resounding success, leaving participants with a
renewed sense of responsibility and commitment to promoting gender equity in their personal
and professional lives.
