An essay writing competition was conducted for BCA students in connection with International Women's Day on 10 March 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Department of Computer Applications. The competition was organized with the objective of encouraging students to express their thoughts on women’s empowerment and to create awareness about gender equality and justice in society. The theme of the competition was “Rights.Justice.Action.For All Women and Girls.”
A total of 7 students participated in the competition and presented their ideas through well-structured and thoughtful essays. The participants highlighted important topics such as women’s rights, equal opportunities, education for girls, social justice, and the importance of empowering women in every field. The essays also reflected the students’ awareness of the challenges faced by women and the need for collective action to ensure equality and justice in society.
The competition provided a good platform for students to express their creativity, writing skills, and social awareness. Through their essays, students emphasized the importance of respecting women’s rights and promoting justice and equality for all women and girls.
After careful evaluation of the essays by the judging panel, Fathima Saja (BCA 2nd Year) secured the First Prize, while Adithya Dev (BCA 1st Year) won the Second Prize for her impressive essay.
Overall, the essay writing competition was meaningful and inspiring. It encouraged students to reflect on the importance of women’s rights, justice, and empowerment, making the event a valuable part of the celebration of International Women’s Day in the department.
