ALUMNI LECTURE SERIES – LECTURE 2

The Department of Computer Applications, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized the second session of the Alumni Lecture Series on 22nd October 2025. The session was conducted via Google Meet from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., with a total of 54 participants including students and faculty members.
The resource person for the session was Mr. Harshid K. C., an alumnus of the BCA 2021–2024 batch, who is currently pursuing his MBA at the University of Calicut. He delivered a talk on the topic “Crafting ATS-Friendly Resumes and a Guide to MCA Entrance Exams.”
The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sandhya Balakrishnan P. K., Head of the Department of BCA, who introduced the speaker and appreciated his willingness to interact with his juniors and share his insights.
In his talk, Mr. Harshid K. C. discussed the importance of designing ATS (Applicant Tracking System)-friendly resumes, explaining how modern recruitment systems filter and rank resumes based on keywords and formatting. He guided students on creating impactful resumes by focusing on structure, clarity, and the use of relevant terms.
He also shared valuable tips and strategies for MCA entrance examination preparation, including recommended study materials, time management techniques, and the importance of consistent practice. Drawing from his own experience, he encouraged students to remain focused and goal-oriented in their academic journey.
The session concluded with an engaging interaction where students clarified their doubts related to career building and higher studies. A vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Asna K. S., Assistant Professor, Department of BCA, who expressed gratitude to the speaker and participants for making the event a success.
Overall, the second lecture of the Alumni Lecture Series proved to be an informative and motivating session, providing students with practical insights into resume building and postgraduate opportunities in computer applications.
