PRESENTATION ON INSTRUMENTATION AND GENE ISOLATION
As part of ability enhancement course M.Sc Biotechnology students visited the firm “Amplicon” at KINFRA Kakkenchery and studied about DNA isolation technique and an online presentation was conducted on 22/12/2021 Wednesday. DNA isolation technique explained by Sreelakshmi.A and the instrumentation of DNA isolation taken by Athulya.A. PCR technique explained by Fasalul Farisa, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis and its instrumentation explained by Ramisha Khathoon and other instrumentation taken by Akshay sibi, Hidha Fathima and Khadheeja Sana.

Webinar on Fluorescence microscopy: An insight into microenvironments
PG department of Biotechnology in association with IQAC conducted a webinar on “Fluorescence microscopy:An insight into microenvironments” on 25th september 2021.The program was started with the welcome speech by Dr. Ajitha Nath, Assistant professor, Department of Biotechnology. Introduction of the guest was done by Athulya. A, 3rd sem MSc Biotechnology. The guest speaker was Dr. Jasim Basheer, Junior Research Scientist Palacky University, Olomouc Czech Republic. The speaker discussed about various types types of microscopies such as light microscope, types of light microscopies including Bright field, phase contrast, Differential interference contrast, fluorescence are discussed. Various types of fluorescence microscopies are discussed such as wide field, scanning illumination, structured illumination and surface illumination in detail and also he described about his findings of fluorescence microscopy Students of both UG and PG were participated in this webinar. The webinar was concluded with a vote of thanks by Akshay sibi, 3rd sem MSc Biotechnology.
