Introduction to ICT in Social Work
On the 13th of December 2020, the PG Department of Social Work and Sociology at GEMS Arts and Science College organized a highly informative program for the Postgraduate Master of Social Work (MSW) students. The program, titled "Introduction to ICT in Social Work," aimed to introduce students to the practical applications of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the field of Social Work. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the growing significance of technology in the realm of social work practice and research. The program was graced by Mr. Sulfikar, a distinguished Research Scholar from Jamia Millia Islamia University. Mr. Sulfikar brought with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of ICT and its applications in the domain of social work. His presence as the Resource Person added immense value to the event, as he was able to shed light on the latest trends, research findings, and best practices related to the integration of ICT in social work services. The program began with an overview of ICT and its relevance in the context of social work. The students were introduced to the various tools, technologies, and software commonly employed in the field .Mr. Sulfikar elucidated the role of technology in improving communication between social workers and their clients. He also highlighted how social media and online platforms can be effectively utilized for outreach and community engagement. Overall, the event was well-received and highly beneficial, leaving a lasting impact on the students' understanding of ICT's role in the domain of social work. It is hoped that more such programs will be organized in the future to keep the students abreast of emerging trends and advancements in the field of social work.

IN TO THE DEEP
The Postgraduate Department of Social Work and Sociology organized a one-day skill development program titled "In to the Deep" for the Postgraduate students. The program aimed to enhance the students' skills and was held on the specified date at the department premises. The program commenced on 22/10/2019 and the resource person facilitating the sessions was Mr. Prakash Babu, a renowned expert in the field of skill development and education. His expertise and experience added value to the program, ensuring the participants received valuable insights and knowledge. The "program adopted a participatory approach, encouraging active involvement from the students. The sessions included group discussions, role-playing exercises, case studies, and practical demonstrations, creating an interactive learning environment."
