On February 7th, The Department of Social Work successfully conducted its professional program, Viventia, which served as a platform for engaging discussions and insights on contemporary social work practices. The program was attended by esteemed faculty, students, and distinguished guests.
The event commenced with a warm and inspiring welcome address by Ms. Anitha Praveen, Head of the Department of Social Work. She highlighted the importance of professional engagements and collaborative learning in the field of social work.
Ms. Pooja Jayaraj, Assistant Professor, presented a comprehensive report on the department’s recent activities, achievements, and future initiatives. Her report reflected the department’s commitment to academic excellence and social outreach.
The official launch of the Viventia logo was performed by Mr. Sameer Machingal, Principal, who emphasized the importance of visual identity in representing the department’s mission and vision. Mr. Muhammed Murshid AP introduced the esteemed guests and highlighted their contributions to the field of education and social service.
The program was formally inaugurated by Mr. Sameer Machingal, District Social Justice Officer, Malappuram. In his inaugural address, he spoke on the evolving role of social work professionals in addressing societal challenges and creating positive change. Ms. Smitha, Librarian, emphasized the importance of information resources in shaping socially responsible professionals.
Mr. Anas Tharakan, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, congratulated the department for organizing the event and encouraged students to pursue knowledge and compassion in their professional journey. Mr. Jiji, Head of the Department of Physical Education, highlighted the importance of physical and mental well-being in the social work profession.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Varsha, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, students, and support staff for their valuable contributions to the success of Viventia.
The Department of Social Work's Association Inauguration Day featured a session on "Mental Health: Enlightenment and Empowerment" led by Hifzul Rahman, a para-psychologist. Mr. Anas Tharakan, Assistant Professor of Social Work, delivered the welcome address. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Anjana, a first-year MSW student, promoting mental health awareness and empowerment.
