OLD AGE HOME VISIT
PG department of commerce, GEMS arts and science college Rramapuram have conducted an old age home visit in the remembrance of our dear friend Arshid, second year b. Com co-operation student as on 13/09/2022 Tuesday at 10:00 am to 2:30 pm at Vylongra Sanketham old age home, Angadipuram. At 9:40 am, 51 students of S3 co-operation and class tutor Mufeed ali and Vidya k- assistant professors of pg department of commerce left the college by college bus. We reached sanketham old age home at exactly 10:00am. There were 22 inmates. All were sat around in the yard there. Farhan, one of the student of s3 co-operation welcomed all of them to participate in the cultural programmes organized by the students.. As a part of cultural programme, Avanthika, Nihal P, Sridin Das, Shida and Shamsheer (B. Com. Co-operation students) sang different styles of songs in the cultural programme which lasted till 12:45 pm. After that the musical game was played with them. What surprised the students that most of them was very happily and they all played very energetically. The family members (mother, sister, father's younger brother, his wife and mother's sister) of arshid had come during the programme. They spent little time with us and go back after eating with us. After the wonderful game, around 1:00 pm the students served food for them food. After having the meal, the students asked them silly questions and handover gifts to each one. Then the class tutor Mufeed sir gave a vote of thanks in the program and they returned from there exactly at 2:15 pm. Back to college by 2:30 pm.
LEARN FREE PROGRAM FOR PLUS ONE STUDENTS
The PG department of commerce, gems arts and Science College in association with IQAC organized inauguration session of “learn free” programon 05th February 2022, Saturday at 10 am. The program framed by the pg department of commerce focusing the development of plus one students especially the financially backward students from the nearby areas of college with free of cost. Apart from a good number of parents and students, programme was attended by chairman, panchayat president, vice chairman, vice principal, director board members, HOD and faculty members of PG department of commerce. Twenty three participants attended the program. The programme formally began with the welcome address delivered by Mr Mohammed Ashraf, vice principal. He focused on the benefit and relevance of learning program initiative from commerce department teachers. The event presided by Smt. Ummukulsu Chakkachan, president Puzakkattiri gramapanchayath. She appreciated the initiative and motivated the students. The program inaugurated by Shri Manjalamkuzhiali, MLA and chairman of the college. He talked a lot about relevance of commerce education and its job opportunities also walked through the initiatives of Gems College for the betterment of society. Mr. Vasudevan vice chairman and Mr. Sadikkali director felicitated the session. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Sivakumar k, HOD, PG department of commerce.
