PATHIRAMANNA SCHOOL CLEANING
GEMS NSS volunteers undertook a meaningful endeavor by cleaning Pathiramanna LP School and its surroundings as part of the Clean India campaign. The program was conducted on 31st October 2021. 30 students were participated in the activity.The school had remained closed for a challenging one and a half years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the volunteers recognized the importance of creating a safe and hygienic environment for the eventual reopening. The impact of the pandemic had left educational institutions like Pathiramanna LP School shuttered for an extended period The GEMS NSS volunteers stepped forward, recognizing the need to prepare the school for the safe return of students and staff. Their efforts went beyond merely cleaning physical spaces; they symbolized a collective dedication to fostering a conducive atmosphere for learning and growth. As part of the Clean India initiative, the volunteers worked tirelessly to sweep, mop, and sanitize classrooms, corridors, and the school's surroundings. Their efforts went a long way in ensuring that the school would be ready to welcome students back with open arms. BEACH CLEANING
Sundaratheeram theeradesa sucheekaranam. The NSS GEMS Unit displayed their dedication to environmental cleanliness and community engagement by actively participating in the inaugural day of the "Sundaratheeram Theeradesa Sucheekaranam" cleanliness mission. This ambitious initiative, spearheaded by the Calicut Corporation, aimed to promote a cleaner environment with active public involvement. The event kicked off on October 2nd, serving as a powerful reminder of the impact that collective efforts can have on the upkeep of public spaces The NSS GEMS Unit's involvement in the first day of this massive cleanliness mission underscored their commitment to social responsibility and environmental well-being. As they joined hands with fellow citizens, their presence symbolized a shared dedication to fostering a cleaner and healthier community. The participation of NSS volunteers resonated with the organization's ethos of contributing to society through hands-on actions. The "Sundaratheeram Theeradesa Sucheekaranam" mission took on a monumental task, spanning 22 kilometers of beachfront cleanup over the course of a week. The NSS GEMS Unit's involvement on the inaugural day set the tone for this ambitious undertaking. A total of 34 NSS Volunteers participated in the program.
