BLOOD DONATION CAMP
A remarkable display of unity and altruism was witnessed as a blood donation camp unfolded under the collaborative efforts of the NSS GEMS Unit and the Manjeri Blood Bank. On April 8th, 2021, this noble initiative took place within the college premises, showcasing the power of collective goodwill. With more than a hundred participants stepping forward, this event underscored the essential role that community-driven blood donation plays in saving lives. Under the joint auspices of the NSS GEMS Unit and the Manjeri Blood Bank, the blood donation camp symbolized a harmonious partnership dedicated to a humanitarian cause. As the college opened its doors to host this noble endeavor, it became a hub of generosity and compassion. NATURE CAMP
Under the auspices of the GEMS NSS Unit, a remarkable three-day nature camp titled 'Into the Wild' was meticulously organized for enthusiastic NSS volunteers, spanning from March 10th to March 13th of 2021. This extraordinary event was set against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring Periyar Tiger Reserve in Thekkady. The camp stood as a testament to the unit's commitment to holistic learning, environmental awareness, and fostering a deep connection with nature. Embarking on an exciting journey, the participants set off from the college at the late hour of 8 PM on March 10th. The nighttime departure added an element of adventure to the entire experience. As the volunteers ventured into the wilderness, they were infused with a sense of anticipation, camaraderie, and a shared willingness to explore the natural world that awaited them. Nestled within the Periyar Tiger Reserve, the camp became a canvas for creating lasting memories. The serene surroundings, lush foliage, and the diverse wildlife of Thekkady served as the perfect backdrop for a comprehensive nature immersion. This experience went beyond classroom learning, offering the volunteers a chance to interact with the environment firsthand, thereby deepening their understanding of the importance of nature conservation.
