World first Aid Day competition
Program Report: Online Essay Writing Competition on World First Aid Day In association with IQAC, the Department of Microbiology at Gems Arts and Science College, Ramapuram organized an online essay writing competition on the occasion of World First Aid Day. The event took place on 11th September 2021 and aimed to rejuvenate the minds of the students while promoting awareness about the importance of first aid training. World First Aid Day is observed annually on the second Saturday of September. It serves as a reminder to encourage people to undergo first aid training, as it plays a crucial role in preventing injuries and saving lives in critical situations. The essay competition aimed to impart knowledge about the necessity of first aid training and its subsequent benefits. The competition allowed students to write essays in both English and Malayalam. The event witnessed active participation from students, who enthusiastically expressed their thoughts on the topic. Numerous essays were submitted, showcasing the students' understanding of first aid and their ability to articulate their ideas effectively. The panel of judges carefully evaluated the essays and selected the top two winners from each category. In the English essay writing competition, Adhila Musthafa from S5 B.Sc Microbiology secured the first prize, while Sana Thayyil from S3 B.Sc Microbiology won the second prize. In the Malayalam essay writing competition, Shahana P from S3 B.Sc Microbiology emerged as the first prize winner, followed by Majida from S2 M.Sc Microbiology as the second prize winner. The winners demonstrated their proficiency in conveying their thoughts and knowledge about first aid through their well-written essays. Their efforts were acknowledged and appreciated by the college and department authorities. The online essay writing competition successfully achieved its objective of raising awareness about the significance of first aid training. It provided a platform for students to showcase their writing skills and understanding of the subject. The competition also encouraged students to explore the topic in depth and express their views creatively. The event concluded on a positive note, with the announcement of the winners and the recognition of their achievements. The competition not only celebrated the World First Aid Day but also motivated students to develop a sense of responsibility towards the well-being of others. water day 2019
On March 22, 2019, at 10 am, the PG department of Microbiology conducted an elocution competition in room no. 408 to commemorate World Water Day. The event witnessed the active participation of six individuals who showcased their oratory skills and knowledge on the importance of water conservation. The competition provided a platform for the participants to deliver passionate speeches on various topics related to water, such as water scarcity, pollution, sustainable usage, and the need for conservation. Each participant presented their viewpoints eloquently, highlighting the significance of preserving this precious resource. The event fostered a sense of awareness and urgency among the participants and the audience about the global water crisis. The speeches sparked discussions and conversations on the responsible use of water in daily life and the impact of individual actions on water conservation. Through the elocution competition on World Water Day, the PG department of Microbiology effectively promoted the value of water conservation and raised awareness about the pressing need to protect this vital resource.
