Tau-Day
The Department of Mathematics in association with IQAC celebrated Tau Day on June 28th, 2021 at 10:30 AM over Google Meet. The event was organized to celebrate the mathematical constant Tau, which is equal to 2π, and to promote awareness and interest in mathematics among the participants. During the event, one of the faculty Abdul Basheer U(Asst.Professor) delivered talk on the significance of Tau in mathematics and its applications in various fields. The talk was followed by a Q&A session where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify their doubts. The event was well attended by students, faculty members, and mathematics enthusiasts from different parts of the world. Overall, the Tau Day celebration was a successful event that helped to promote interest and awareness in mathematics.

Statistics Day
The Department of Mathematics, in association with IQAC, celebrated Statistics Day on 20/06/21. As part of the celebration, a lecture on the topic "Statistics in COVID Pandemic" was organized. The lecture was conducted by Sulabha Das P, the Head of the Department of Mathematics, through Google Meet. With 40 participants in attendance, the lecture aimed to highlight the vital role of statistics in understanding and analyzing the COVID-19 pandemic. Sulabha Das P shared valuable insights and statistical information related to the pandemic, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the data-driven approaches used to tackle the crisis. Sulabha Das presented real-life examples and case studies to illustrate how statistical analysis has been instrumental in tracking the number of cases, analyzing mortality rates, understanding the effectiveness of interventions, and predicting future trends. The lecture enabled participants to comprehend the significance of statistics in formulating evidence-based strategies to combat the pandemic. Overall, the celebration of Statistics Day and the lecture on "Statistics in COVID Pandemic" fostered a deeper appreciation for the role of statistics in understanding and managing public health crises.
