Statistics Day 29
The Department of Mathematics, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), celebrated Statistics Day on 29th June 2022, at 2:00 PM in room number 706. The event saw the participation of 15 students. The main highlight of the celebration was a lecture on the topic "Statistics in Daily Life." The lecture was delivered by Jayasree KG, the esteemed Head of the Department of Mathematics. The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by Fathima Farsana, Mathematics Association secretary, second-year mathematics student. Following that, Jayasree KG, as the Head of the Department, delivered the presidential address. The main speakers of the event were Fathima Farsana C and Farhana P V, both second-year Mathematics students, and Thabsheera P and Aravind P, both third-year Mathematics students. These students shared valuable insights into the practical applications of statistics in everyday life, making the lecture informative and engaging. Shiba CK and Abdul Basheer U were also present to felicitate the occasion. Their presence added a sense of appreciation and encouragement to the participants and speakers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mohammed Shaijal Ameen K. He expressed gratitude to all the attendees and highlighted the significance of celebrating Statistics Day, emphasizing the importance of statistics in various fields. Overall, the Statistics Day celebration provided an excellent platform for students to learn and appreciate the relevance of statistics in their daily lives. The lecture and speeches contributed to increasing awareness and understanding of this important branch of mathematics.

UNDERSTAND YOURSELF
The Department of Mathematics, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a program titled "Understand Yourself" on September 22, 2022. The event took place at the rooftop venue and commenced at 1:30 PM. The primary objective of this initiative was to facilitate self-awareness and personal growth among participants. The program garnered participation from 15 enthusiastic individuals from Mathematics Department and students from other discipline who were eager to delve into the journey of self-discovery. The event was initiated with a warm welcome by Aiswarya Govind, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics. Her opening remarks set a positive tone for the session, creating an atmosphere of engagement and receptivity. The core session was led by Irshad Ali, Head of the Department and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education. Ali's expertise in personal development and motivation was evident as he guided the participants through various activities and discussions designed to promote self-reflection and introspection. The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to explore their strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations.
