STATISTICS DAY 2018-19
On June 28, 2018, the Department of Mathematics celebrated Statistics Day with great enthusiasm and organized a quiz competition to commemorate the occasion. The event aimed to promote awareness and appreciation for the significance of statistics in various fields of study and everyday life. The quiz competition brought together 33 participants from Mathematics Department to test their knowledge and skills in the realm of statistics. The quiz competition was conducted in a multiple-choice format, allowing participants to choose the correct answer from a set of options. The questions ranged from basic statistical concepts to more complex applications, challenging the contestants' understanding of statistics. The competition consisted of three rounds, each focusing on different aspects of statistics: At the end of the intense competition, the top three contestants with the highest scores were declared winners. The winners were awarded exciting prizes, recognizing their exceptional knowledge and performance in the quiz. The Statistics Day Quiz Competition organized by the Department of Mathematics on June 28, 2018, was a resounding success. The event not only celebrated the importance of statistics but also fostered a spirit of healthy competition and learning among the participants. By providing an engaging platform for individuals to showcase their statistical acumen, the department aimed to encourage a deeper appreciation for the field and its applications. The enthusiastic response from the participants ensured that the event achieved its objectives, leaving everyone motivated to further explore the world of statistics.

WOMEN AND TECHNOLOGY
The Department of Mathematics, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Women Development Cell (WDC) and Women Protection Office, Women And Child Development Department, Malappuram, organized a webinar on "Women And Technology" on 14th May 2023 at 10:00am. The event aimed to shed light on the current state of women in the tech industry, including their representation in technology jobs and the lack of diversity in tech leadership roles. The webinar received an enthusiastic response, with a total of 30 participants in attendance. The session commenced with Jayasree K G ,WDC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Mathematics, extending a warm welcome to all the participants. The keynote speaker for the webinar was Zilzila Kaladi resource person of ‘Kanavu’, the Women and Child Development Department, Calicut. Zilzila Kaladi shared valuable insights on the challenges faced by women in the tech industry and discussed the current percentage of women in technology jobs. The speaker emphasized the importance of promoting diversity and equality in tech-related fields. At 11:30am, the webinar concluded with Abdul Basheer U, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, delivering words of appreciation to the speaker and expressing gratitude to all the participants for their active engagement.
