PI-DAY CELEBRATION
On March 14, 2019, the Department of Mathematics celebrated "Pi-Day" with great enthusiasm. The event brought together 81 participants, including 70 students, faculty members, and mathematics enthusiasts. The celebration of "Pie-Day" is a tradition that honors the mathematical constant π (pi), which is approximately equal to 3.14159. This special day provides an opportunity to appreciate the significance of π in various mathematical and scientific contexts. The event featured engaging activities and games related to π.. They also had the chance to showcase their creativity through working model presentations and artwork centred around the theme of π. The event was a resounding success, generating enthusiasm and inspiring a deeper appreciation for the mathematical constant π. The celebration of "Pie-Day" served as a reminder of the significant role mathematics plays in our lives and encouraged further exploration and engagement with the subject.

Mathematics Day Celebration
On 5th January 2019, in commemoration of Mathematics Day, a poster making competition was organized by Department of Mathematics at Seminar Hall. The competition aimed to celebrate the significance of Mathematics in our daily lives and promote its beauty through creative expression The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of Mathematics Department. The theme of the competition was chosen to emphasize that mathematics is not just about numbers and equations but it is also an art form that shapes our world. Participants were encouraged to showcase their interpretation of this theme through their posters. The posters exhibited a wide range of creativity and originality. Participants used vibrant colours, intricate designs and imaginary concepts to convey their messages about the beauty of mathematics. Some common elements featured in the posters included mathematical symbols, equations, geometric shapes and illustrations depicting real life applications of Mathematics. After careful evaluation the Judges selected the following winners First prize: Aneesa T, Second sem.
