Mathematics Day Celebration
On 5th January 2019, in commemoration of Mathematics Day, a poster making competition was organized by Department of Mathematics at Seminar Hall. The competition aimed to celebrate the significance of Mathematics in our daily lives and promote its beauty through creative expression The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of Mathematics Department. The theme of the competition was chosen to emphasize that mathematics is not just about numbers and equations but it is also an art form that shapes our world. Participants were encouraged to showcase their interpretation of this theme through their posters. The posters exhibited a wide range of creativity and originality. Participants used vibrant colours, intricate designs and imaginary concepts to convey their messages about the beauty of mathematics. Some common elements featured in the posters included mathematical symbols, equations, geometric shapes and illustrations depicting real life applications of Mathematics. After careful evaluation the Judges selected the following winners First prize: Aneesa T, Second sem. Real-world Math Explorations
The Department of Mathematics recently organized an industrial visit to Vagamon for the 2017-20 batch of mathematics students. The visit took place over a span of two days, from November 24th to November 25th, 2018. The purpose of the visit was to provide the students with practical exposure to the applications of mathematics in real-world settings. A total of 24 participants, including 2 female faculty members and 1 male faculty member, joined the visit. The group embarked on an enriching journey to explore the practical applications of mathematics in various industries and domains. The trip aimed to enhance the students' understanding of how mathematical concepts and theories are implemented in real-life scenarios. The Department of Mathematics is committed to organizing such educational trips and experiences to provide its students with well-rounded learning opportunities. The industrial visit to Vagamon was a success, thanks to the active participation of the students, the guidance of the faculty members, and the support of the department.
