Carrier Setting
On 12th January 2021, the Department of Mathematics organized a career guidance class titled “PATHFINDER 2K21: navigating your journey; Career Setting." The session aimed to provide valuable insights and guidance to participants on potential career paths in the field of mathematics. The resource person for the event was Sulabha Das P, Head of the Department and Assistant Professor of Mathematics. The online session took place on Google Meet and saw the participation of 43 enthusiastic individuals. The career guidance class commenced promptly at 7:30 PM. Sulabha Das, with her extensive knowledge and experience, led the session, covering various aspects related to career opportunities in mathematics. The agenda included discussions on available career paths, skill requirements, and the significance of mathematics in different industries.

World Statics Day
World Statistics Day is celebrated globally on October 20th every five years. The aim of this day is to recognize the importance of statistics in shaping our societies, economies, and the world at large. In honor of World Statistics Day, Department of Mathematics organized an essay writing competition with the theme, "The Impact of Misleading Statistics." The competition aimed to engage participants in critical thinking about the ethical use of statistics and raise awareness about the consequences of misleading data. Participants were required to submit original essays on the topic, "The Impact of Misleading Statistics," highlighting the potential consequences, real-world examples, and solutions to combat the misuse of statistics. The competition ran from 4pm to 5pm, and submissions were accepted through our online platform.
