Association Inaguration and workshop
On March 22, 2019, the Department of Mathematics inaugurated the Mathematics Association named "LA EQUACIA" at the Seminar Hall. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Mr. Mohammed Abdul Khayoom, Assistant Professor from the Department of Mathematics at Govt. Polytechnic college, Manjeri As part of the inauguration, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Khayoom conducted a workshop on "Career Guidance and Courses After UG Mathematics." The workshop aimed to provide valuable insights and guidance to the 87 participants regarding various career options available after completing their undergraduate studies in mathematics. During the workshop, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Khayoom discussed different career paths that mathematics graduates could pursue, such as academia, research, industry, and government sectors. He highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary knowledge and showcased specific courses and specialized programs that could enhance career prospects. The workshop also provided a platform for interactive discussions, allowing participants to seek clarifications, share their aspirations, and gain a deeper understanding of the potential career trajectories in the field of mathematics. The inauguration of the Mathematics Association, along with the workshop on career guidance, proved to be beneficial for the participants. It helped them explore diverse opportunities and make informed decisions about their future academic and professional paths. The event also served as a foundation for the newly formed Mathematics Association, providing a platform for future activities, workshops, and collaborations. PI-DAY CELEBRATION
On March 14, 2019, the Department of Mathematics celebrated "Pi-Day" with great enthusiasm. The event brought together 81 participants, including 70 students, faculty members, and mathematics enthusiasts. The celebration of "Pie-Day" is a tradition that honors the mathematical constant π (pi), which is approximately equal to 3.14159. This special day provides an opportunity to appreciate the significance of π in various mathematical and scientific contexts. The event featured engaging activities and games related to π.. They also had the chance to showcase their creativity through working model presentations and artwork centred around the theme of π. The event was a resounding success, generating enthusiasm and inspiring a deeper appreciation for the mathematical constant π. The celebration of "Pie-Day" served as a reminder of the significant role mathematics plays in our lives and encouraged further exploration and engagement with the subject.
