RESISTIVITY SURVEY IN NEAR BY LOCALITY
PG Department of Applied Geology conducted an extensive resistivity survey in the nearby locality to analyze the groundwater conditions. The survey was conducted on 11th March 2020 at 10:00 am. 15 students were participated in the survey. Through the geophysical resistivity survey, the under-groundwater levels can be analyzed and thereby several steps can be undertaken to improve the groundwater level. An extensive survey was conducted by the department of geology under the guidance Abdul Rahman C V, Head of the department along with other faculties in the nearby locality of the college. About 6 students from M.Sc. applied geology was part of the survey. Through the program the methodology and basic knowledge about the geophysical resistivity survey was explained in detail to the students. They also acquired knowledge about how to interpret the hydrological conditions in the area.

A WEBINAR ON GUIDELINES FOR WRITE A RESEARCH PAPER
PG Department of Applied Geology in association with IQAC conducted a webinar on the topic “Guidelines to write a research paper”. The session was handled by Dr. M.C Raicy on 21st May 2023 11:00 am via Google meet. In the session she mentions that writing a scientific paper is an essential skill for researchers to communicate their findings and contribute to the scientific community. 26 students participated in the session. This webinar provides a comprehensive guide to writing a scientific paper, including the key components, structure, writing style, and tips for effective communication. She mentioned key Components of a Scientific Paper such as Title, Abstract, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and References. She described that title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the paper. She mentioned that Methodology describes the research design, data collection methods, and analysis techniques used. Provide sufficient details for others to replicate the study. Results form the main part of the research paper which present the findings of the study objectively. Use tables, figures, or graphs to present data effectively. Organize the results logically and provide appropriate statistical analysis. Discussion part interprets the results in the context of the research objectives and existing literature. She also mentioned the structure and writing style of a research paper.
