Student orientation programme
Resolved to conduct a student orientation programme in Association with student induction Programme (Dheeksharamb). Purpose of Student Induction Programme is to help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the institution, help them build bonds with other students and faculty members, and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self exploration.Session was oraganised by PG Department of English language and literature and coordinated by Asif A, Assistant Professor PG Department of English. Introduced importance of English Language to the new aspirants of English literature. He Students majoring in English literature spend their time reading, analyzing, and writing about a wide range of texts in the English language. English literature teaches students many of the skills that are in high demand in today's workforce.Programme conducted on 26th June 2018 at 11:30 to 1:00 pm . Mr Vijayesh Babu covered all the aspects of English language as means of communication as well as the lingua franka of universe. The session winded up after an interactive session of all the students and teachers of English Department.

WEBINAR ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
A webinar on ‘Research Methodology’ was conducted at Gems Arts and Science College by the PG Department of English Language and Literature on 21-03-2020. Mr. Afsal Jamal, Associate Professor, PTM Govt College, Perinthalmanna led the session. The session began with the welcome speech of Mr. Anand C, HOD, PG Department of English Language and Literature. It was followed by a highly effective interactive session. The 50 students of S6 BA English and S4 MA English attended the webinar. It was an interactive session in which the students clarified their concerns regarding the preparation of projects and dissertations. The resource person discussed t various aspects of research, starting from the selection of a topic to the final submission of the research material. The session highly motivated the students of the department. Miss. Sruthi B Nair delivered the Vote of Thanks and concluded the session.
